Testimonials
"In her time with our daughter, we not only saw academic improvement, but we also noticed an enhanced engagement and excitement over reading and learning. Miss Chris was the perfect "tutor" for our shy and reserved little girl. She brought warmth and flexibility to their sessions, and utilized a wide variety of methods and materials to help our emerging reader. Thank you Miss Chris”

“Check out his test! He is very excited… You have been so positive and inspirational. He is so sensitive, as you know,
and so importantly, trusts you. He is going to miss you there is no doubt. I will too”.

“This year English is his favorite subject and he is much more confident. I believe it's a testament to all the work that you've done with him! So far, it's been a great school year and he is happy and thriving at school”.

“His writing has grown a lot since last year, as well as his focus. Generally, the kids need to work on supporting their ideas with evidence, and then explaining that evidence. His narrative writing was in the beginning stages last year, but as we start on it again (in a few weeks), I expect to see more developed writing and a more coherent story arc”.

“Christine is a skillful educational therapist. She uses her experience as a licensed clinical social worker in combination with her educational practices to recognize the whole child with all her strengths, struggles, joys and hopes. She is especially good working with middle school students on up with writing skills. Christine has developed her own program to help students develop their individual voice as writers while learning to express themselves in different genres and styles from paragraph through formal essay. She is also a reading coach who has helped elementary school children develop their skills and confidence as readers”.

“Christine Benguiat attended three of my workshops for educators in the summer of 2018: Assessing Writers, Writing Like Scientists, and Reading Informational Text. It is rare for an Educational Therapist to seek out courses designed for teachers, yet Christine is that unique practitioner who wants to learn as much as possible about strategies that will help students succeed in school. She was an enthusiastic participant and a great contributor to our summer learning community”.
