As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, in addition to an Educational Therapist certified by the Association of Educational Therapists, I use my clinical understanding to support often misunderstood students struggling academically, socially, and emotionally. These struggles may be caused by their learning style, pace and challenges that interfere with their ability to achieve academic success. In addition to struggles with specific content, executive function difficulties in planning, prioritizing, time and organizational management, study skills, task initiation and project follow-through often accompany academic learning challenges making the journey to self-confidence and independent achievement even harder.

I completed my certificate in Educational Therapy from Holy Names University in the San Francisco Bay area and am certified by the Association of Educational Therapists. I am licensed in the state of California as a Clinical Social Worker with an M.S.W. from the University of Southern California and have an M.A. in Public Policy from Trinity College in Connecticut.

In addition to specific training in reading, writing and executive function, I draw upon the work and philosophy of the Landmark School Outreach in Massachusetts, which is nationally recognized in the field of Language Based Learning Disabilities, teaching strategies in reading, writing, study skills, and executive function.
As a member of the Association of Educational Therapists (AET), I am committed to upholding and advancing the Code of Ethics and Standards for Professional Practice of this organization. Members of AET have met exacting professional requirements in the academic areas of elementary and/or secondary education, child development, educational assessment, learning theory, learning disabilities, and principles of educational therapy.
